PURPOSE:To obtain a stable reversely reproduced picture, by generating a detecting signal corresponding to the wind extent of a tape for a payoff or take-up reel during reverse speed reproduction, and controlling the tape take-up torque of the supply reel on the basis of the detecting signal. CONSTITUTION:When normal-direction reproduction is switched to reverse high- speed reproduction, the wind extent of a tape around a supply reel is large and a detecting signal corresponding to the wind extent allows a Schmitt circuit 15, changeover inverter 16, and inverter 18 to generate an output H, output L, and output H respectively; and the driving torque of a motor 2 increases to increase tape tension. When the normal-direction reproduction is switched to reverse low-speed reproduction, the Schmitt circuit 15 and changeover inverter 16 both generate an output L, and this L-level output is held by a holding circuit 17; and the inverter 18 generates an output H and a driving circuit 19 increases the driving torque of the motor 2. Thus, excellent tape tension is obtained even during the reverse reproduction to obtain an excellent reproduced picture. |
