PURPOSE:To prepare an immunopromoting agent having high safety, exhibiting excellent immunopromoting effect, and useful for the prevention and immunization of particular infectious diseases, by using the microbial cells and cell component of swine-originated Bordetella bronchiseptica, as active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective immunopromoting agent is composed of microbial cells or cell component of swine-originated Bordetella bronchiseptica (hereinafter abbreviated as B.b). The bacterial cells can be obtaind by culturing B.b in culture medium such as brain heart infusion agar medium containing 10% calf serum, and collecting and washing the proliferated cells. When the microbial cells are injected in combination with a formalin inactivated antigen of Babesia gibsoni (B.g) for the purpose of promoting the immunity to the B.g infectious diseases e.g. a hemocytozoonisis of dog having anemia as main symptom, B.b has the most strong promoting effect to the phagocitic actitivity of phagocyte compared with the case using other microbial strain (e.g. Corynebacterium anaerobium). |
