For producing windsurfing boards, a core of plastic having a high void fraction is incorporated in the hollow space enclosed by the wall of the outer shell and supports the latter. In order to produce a lightweight core of great strength, hollow bodies are introduced into the hollow space and the remaining voids are subsequently filled with a foam plastic.
