The subject of the invention is a strip-shaped sealing profile for a door or the like, the sealing action being produced by having the profile fastened to one of the relatively moving parts - door or frame - and a flexible profile lip being placed positively with increasing prestress against the other of the relatively moving parts - frame or door - with increasing closing of the door, the profile, during the greater part of the door movement, being free from the part with which the lip interacts and only coming into bearing contact towards the end of the closing movement, from which point on, however, the prestress in the lip increases.
