The invention is concerned with a feeding station for feeding free-flowing material by means of compressed air into the pipeline of a pneumatic conveyor system, comprising a feeding container connected to the pipeline and having a material inlet nozzle and a compressed air inlet nozzle for the intermittent supply of compressed air. In order to obtain a high output together with a low compressed air consumption while at the same time providing a simple and functionally viable construction, the feeding container has a metering chamber and, downstream of the metering chamber, a blowing chamber, forming a metering opening. The material inlet nozzle is connected to the metering chamber, forming an inlet opening, the compressed air inlet nozzle is connected to the blowing chamber, forming at least one blow-in opening, and, downstream of the blow-in opening, the pipeline is connected to the blowing chamber, forming a blow-out opening. The inlet opening and the metering opening are assigned an alternately operating closing device which, when compressed air is supplied to blowing chamber, opens the inlet opening and closes the metering opening, and vice versa. <IMAGE>
