The control apparatus for a crane attachment has a winch which sits on a travelling crab of the crane, a multiplicity of first rope pulleys which are held on the travelling crab, and also a multiplicity of second rope pulleys which are held on the attachment. For movement, a movable block is arranged in the centre section of the attachment. Furthermore, a multiplicity of ropes for unwinding from the winch are provided. The ropes running off from the winch are first of all run over the second rope pulleys and then over the first rope pulleys and then, starting from there, are run to the movable block in such a way that, with regard to the crane, they are inclined to the front and rear as well as to the left and right. The apparatus is constructed in such a way that the pivoting movement of the attachment to the front and rear as well as to the left and right can be prevented by the ropes inclined in the manner described. At the same time, the position of the attachment during lifting can be varied by changing the tension equilibrium of the ropes on account of the movement of the movable block. <IMAGE>
