In a torsional vibration damper for shafts, in particular drive shafts for internal combustion engines, vibration-damping means and/or resilient means are arranged between an inner primary part and an outer secondary part surrounding the latter in the form of a ring. To reduce the bearing outlay for the torsional vibration damper, parts of the outer circumferential surface of the primary part and of the inner circumferential surface of the secondary part cooperate as bearing surfaces.
