PURPOSE:To improve a readout margin by reducing a peak shift in case of the occurrence of a peak crack due to noise. CONSTITUTION:The 1st circuit (peak detecting circuit) 21 detects a peak point of an analog waveform read out by a magnetic head 3. When the circuit 21 detects the peak point, prescribed time width T1 is set and when the 2nd peak point out of phase with the 1st peak point is detected within the prescribed time width T1, the 1st peak point is recognized as a real peak point to output pulses (i) through the 2nd circuit 22 on the basis of the real peak point. Then, data is discriminated on the basis of said pulses (i) to obtain readout information. Consequently, a peak shift when a peak crack is generated is reduced to improve a readout margin. |
