Precancerosis and cancerosis are to be determined by staining of blood samples. For this purpose, dye is proposed and a method is used which comprises the blood smear being dried in air and subsequently fixed with an alcohol solution, the blood smear then being exposed for several minutes to a first dye consisting of Nile blue chloride and, after this dye has been rinsed off with double-distilled water, for several minutes to a second dye consisting of a merbromine solution, and subsequently the dye being rinsed off with double-distilled water, and the blood sample being dried in air.
