The invention relates to a process for producing plastic mouldings in a compression mould. By the connection of a vessel containing a plastic powder, pulverulent plastic is applied, electrostatically from bottom to top, to the hot surface of the upper, open mould half and to the face side of the mould half reproducing the moulding, and fuses there to form a layer. During the pressing operation, this powder layer is pressed with a plastic mat laid on the countermould to form a stable composite with a non-porous face side.
