PURPOSE:To improve resolution of an intermediate region, by using two comparison circuits of picture signals, discriminating the picture signals into the parts within the intermediate region and outside of it, and outputting the signal on the preceding line through inversion in case of the part in the intermediate region. CONSTITUTION:A reflected light 0 from pattern information is converted into electric energy and inputted to comparison circuits 5 and 6. A reference voltage of different DC voltages is inputted to comparison circuits 5, 6, compared with the picture signals and a binarized output is inputted to an intermediate region discriminating circuit 8. The circuit 8 discriminates whether the picture signals are within the intermediate region or outside it, to switchingly control a changeover switch 9 and the signals are stored in a storage circuit 10. When the signals are at the outside of the intermediate region, the output of the comparison circuit 5 is outputted, and when the signals are within the intermediate region, the signals of the preceding line delayed by 1 line at the storage circuit 10 are inverted for the polarity and outputted to an output terminal 11. |
