A hot water heater, especially a boiler, having a reservoir container on which a heat source acts, which heat source consists of at least one microwave generator which is connected via a microwave waveguide to the interior space of the reservoir connector which has a screen which prevents the microwaves emerging to the exterior. Such a hot water heater can be used for heating industrial water and/or heating water.
