PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a mechanical means for magnetic core jointing, and to realize a simplified manufacturing process and a lowered price while improving work precision by forming a gap space for gap formation in a part of an annular magnetic core made of amorphous alloy, and fitting a spacer in the gap and reforming the core by pressing. CONSTITUTION:A gap spacer 4 having 1.5-2.0mum thickness is inserted into the gap part 7 of an annular core 6 formed by laminating thin belts of amorphous alloy. Then, the gap is narrowed down by applying pressure to clamp the spacer 4 between both facing end surfaces of the core 6 and in this state, they are heated to a prescribed temperature. Then, the core 6 is detached from a jig to obtain a magnetic head 9 having a working magnetic gap (g); and a tape contacting surface is polished and a coil is provided as usual. Thus, a conventional mechanincal means for adhering two split cores is unnecessary and work precision is improved. |
