For the installation or fitting of a laundry treatment or dishwashing machine in a recess (1) in a line (2) of fitted kitchen furniture, a guide element (10) is provided for the orderly and bend-free guiding of the supply lines (7, 8) of the machine. When the machine has been inserted in the recess, the L- or T-shaped guide element is situated with one limb (14) parallel to the rear wall (9) of the recess in a set-back portion (3) in the rear side (4) of the appliance and projects with the second limb (13) through an opening (12) in the rear side of the appliance. The supply lines located in the hollow profile of the guide element (10) are thus installed in the machine housing without bends at the intended position. <IMAGE>
