The method is used for opening the cutting gap in workpieces where circular saws are used, and involves the workpiece parts which are separated, being removed from each other vertically to the cutting plane. The saw shaft and blade are laterally displaced with the saw drive housing as an entity. A hydraulic cylinder(11) is coaxially connected to the swivel axis(10) of the drive housing, and causes the lateral displacement to occur. During the sawing process, at least one swivel bearing(8, 9) of the drive housing(2) is pretensioned, and is without load between consecutive sawing movements. |
