A desk is equipped with a desk top which can be raised and lowered and which can be fixed in different height positions. Guide struts (1) project downwards from the desk top, each of which is guided so as to be longitudinally displaceable in the direction of the arrow (3) in a vertical strut (2) of a pedestal.
