<p>A valve includes a sleeve (16) having a water inlet (18) and a water outlet (20). There is a stem (28) movable within the sleeve (10) to control the flow of water from the inlet (18) to the outlet (20). A pressure member (30) is positioned within the sleeve (16) and coaxially arranged with the stem (28). The pressure member (30) is fixed relative to the sleeve (16) and is within the path of flow from the sleeve inlet (18) to the sleeve outlet (20). A fixed seal (58) is positioned between the stem (28) and the pressure member (30) and a seal (34) of equal diameter, is carried by the stem (28) and is in sealing engagement with the sleeve (16). The above described seals balance the stem.</p> |
