1,222,873. Molybdenum oxide. ATLANTIC RICHFIELD CO. 29 May, 1968 [22 June, 1967], No. 25839/68. Heading C1A. Molybdenum oxide is recovered from organic solutions of molybdenum compounds (resulting e.g., from organic reactions using a molybdenum compound as a catalyst) by heating the solution to 850‹ to 2000‹ F. in a free oxygencontaining atmosphere. Before the reaction, the solution is preferably superheated to a temperature of 300‹ to 900‹ F. The molybdenum oxide recovered may be further heated at 850‹ to 1500‹ F. in free oxygen-containing gas to remove carbon deposits from the oxide.
|
