PURPOSE:To raise the definition of print as well as miniaturize a thermal transfer type color printer by a method in which various colors of monocolor layers having an area similar to or more than an effective printing area are orderly and repeatedly provided in the longitudinal direction of an ink carrier, and color transfer printing is made. CONSTITUTION:An ink carrier is one obtained by coating orderly yellow ink 52Y, Magenta 52M, and cyanine ink 52C in an amount of 4g/m<2> over an area 220mm. in width and 300mm. in length on a condenser 51 12mum in thickness and 230mm. in width. In recording, monocolor inks corresponding to monocolor component signals are thermally transferred to a paper, and after the transfer of the monocolor inks for an effective printing area is ended, the other monocolor printing is likewise made orderly to obtain a color print on the recording paper. |
