A method of removing the reverberant tails from the reflections recorded in a vertical seismic profile, in which the autocorrelation of the downgoing wave is employed to produce an inverse operator which is applied to the reflections to remove the reverberant tails. The invention also embraces a computer conditioned to perform the method of the invention. The method is particularly applicable to borehole logging. |
