PURPOSE:To reduce magnetic saturation and as well friction force between a steel plate and rollers, by positioning the stators of a linear motor in opposite to each other, with a suitable gap being held therebetween, the steel plate being disposed therebetween, and by arranging rollers on both sides of these stators with micro-gaps being held between the steel plate and the rollers. CONSTITUTION:The stators 2a, 2b of a linear motor are arranged in opposite to each other, a steel plate 1 being disposed therebetween with a suitable gap being held between the steel plate and each stator 2a, 2b. A plurality of rollers 3 are arranged on both sides of the stators 2a, 2b of the linear motor. The outer peripheral surface of each roller 3 is arranged nearer to the steel plate 1 than the surface of the iron core of each stator 2a, 2b and the gap between each opposed pair of the rollers 3 is slightly larger than the thickness of the steel plate 1. Thrust force and atractive force are produced when the stators 2a, 2b are energized, but the attractive force is cancelled out so that no appreciable friction force is generated between the steel plate 1 and the rollers 3, while the thrust force is multiplied, thereby the steel plate 1 is transferred at a high speed. |
