PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive printer with a simplified mechanism by providing a reference positioning system for selecting printing types consisting of a step motor and a photo sensor for a serial printer using a type wheel. CONSTITUTION:A type wheel 31 is turned by the rotation of a step motor 36, and the type wheel is also solely vertically moved for printing by means of a flexible joint 34 and drive mechanisms 37-40. A shield plate 32 is attached to a motor shaft 36a at a right angle to the axis, and the position at which a photo sensor 33 is interrupted is defined as a home position. Also, upper and lower drive mechanisms are provided to the wheel shaft 35 of the type wheel 31. In short, one end of a lever 37 attached to the wheel shaft 35 is supported on a support shaft 38, and is driven up and down by a plunger magnet 40 and a recovery spring 39 on the other end. |
