[Also in Division G2] A system for displaying information in three dimensions in space, as in Specification 937,567, in which a display 17 on cathode-ray tube 11 is projected on to a translucent screen 5 rotating about an axis 3 in its plane, to avoid the complication of rotating the cathode-ray tube 11, in order to obtain co-ordination with the rotation of screen 5, a dove prism 27 is interposed in the projection system along the axis 3 and rotated at half the speed of screen 5, the cathode-ray 11 tube remaining stationary. As shown, an image of display 17 is formed at 22a by means of mirror 19 and lens 21, and is relayed to screen 5 by mirror 23, lens 25, rotating dove prism 27, lens 26, fibre optic conduit 31, lens 33 and mirror 35, members 31, 33, 35, being mounted on the same rotating carriage 2 as the screen 5. |
