An oil burner comprises an oil spray nozzle 9 and an air swirler 5 disposed within an air tube comprising a cylindrical portion 1, a conical portion 2 and a second cylindrical portion 3 having a conically contracting mouth 4. The second cylindrical portion 3 may have a greater diameter than the first cylindrical portion. The air swirler has a central orifice and radial slots partly covered by scoops. The air swirler is movable between the junction of the conical portion 2 and the second cylindrical portion 3 and the centre of the second cylindrical portion 3. The edge of the swirler is spaced from the air tube. The oil nozzle 9 is either spaced rearwardly from or in line with the swirler. |
