PURPOSE:To raise the chromogenic property of a heat-sensitive recording material by adding an urea derivative and/or urethane derivative of more than a certain number of carbon and a developer, besides a chromogenic substance, to the composition of the heat-sensitive recording material. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive recording material contains as main components an electron donative chromogenic dye (e.g., well-known triarylmethane compounds, diphenylmethane compounds, etc.), a 7 carbon or more urea derivative, e.g., preferably a compound of the formulaI(Where R<1>-R<4> are coincidently or differently H, alkyl, or aryl group), a 8 carbon or more urethane derivative, e.g., preferably a compound of the formula II (where R<1> and R<2> are each an alkyl or aryl group), and a developer of the formula III (where X is a halogen atom and Z is a 4-18 carbon alkylene residue, aralkylene residue, or cycloalkylene residue group). In this case, any one of the urea derivative and urethane derivative may be used. |
