<p>Electrochemical oxygen sensing apparatus of the resistive type for providing an electrical signal which is a function of the oxygen content in a gas, as the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. This apparatus comprises an electrical circuit which includes a titania resistor (1) and a zirconia resistor (3). Voltages (E1, E2) are applied through respective resistors (2,4) to the titania and zirconia resistors (1,3) and voltages (A,B) appearing across the titania and zirconia resistors (1,3) are respectively applied to the inputs of a voltage comparator (6), whereby when the titania and zirconia resistors (1,3) are exposed to the heated gas, a signal is obtained from the comparator output that is a function of the oxygen content of the gas.</p> |
