PURPOSE:To facilitate the selection of a map pattern by automatically selecting the map pattern, and displaying it on a screen to which a running locus is projected in a superimposed mode. CONSTITUTION:The running locus, which is displayed on a projection type CRT display 2, is projected on a projection screen 7. At this time the projected light passes a map film 15, and the map pattern in the map film 15 is projected on the projection screen 7 together with the running locus. A cover rotating driving motor 19 and gears 17 and 18 rotate an entire cover 16 including film cartridges 16, so that the running direction of an automobile is always directed upward on the projection screen 7.
