PURPOSE:To efficiently control an unsymmetrical flow of water around the stern, by providing a water jet controller, in which a jet of water from plural water jet nozzles is controlled in accordance with a detection signal from a flow field meter. CONSTITUTION:To measure a flow field of the stern, a flow field meter 12 of movable fin type is mounted to a ship body in the upper of a propeller 2, then a flow direction and velocity of water along the stern are detected. The rotary position of a movable fin 12f of said flow field meter 12 is transferred to the position of a moving element 12b in a potentiometer through a rotary shaft 12a, and a signal of said moving element is input to a water jet controller 13, then driving motors M of pumps P, feeding water to water jet nozzles 11 in left and right ship sides, are controlled. In this way, a hesitating point 5 of the flow in the stern is always held on the center line 6 of the ship body, and an unsymmetrical characteristic of the stern flow can be reduced to suppress an increase of resistance due to diagonal sailing and/or steering of the ship body. |
