PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption and to simplify the moving mechanism, by fixing a photographic lens and moving a solid-state image pickup element to focus a camera. CONSTITUTION:A moving table 4 consisting of a plane plate vertical to an optical axis O of a fixed phtographic lens 3 is arranged in a camera body 1. This moving table 4 is moved back and forth along the optical axis O by a motor 7. On the moving table 4, a solid-state image pickup element 9 is so provided that its center coincides with the optical axis O. The camera is focused on the basis of the output signal of the solid-state image pickup element 9. Since the photographic lens having a large mass is not moved but the lightweight soid-state image pickup element is moved to focus the camera, a motor having a large torque is not required, and the power consumption is reduced, and the moving mechanism is simplified. |
