INSULATING BOARD PRODUCT FOR USE IN ROOFING SYSTEMS

The present invention relates to the field of insulating board products, and in particular, to insulating boards used in built-up roof construction. When constructing a built-up roof moisture within the various layers making up the built-up roof can, if not vented, result in accelerated failure of the roof membrane. The present invention provides an insulating board having moisture venting channels impressed in the lower surface thereof. The channels of the boards are interconnected with one another by rabbeted portions along the perimeter of each board. Thus, a series of such boards adhered to either the roof deck or an old failed roof membrane, provides a means for venting moisture while simultaneously providing a smooth, stable surface on which a further new roof membrane may be adhered.
