PURPOSE:To develop a light coherency surface layer showing a complicated deep beautiful pattern simply within a short time, by a method wherein a metal thin film is formed on the glaze surface of a base body to which glaze is applied and the metal film formed base body is subjected to high temp. treatment in a oxygen atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:As a base body, a heat resistant material such as copper, silver, gold or pottery is used and the glaze surface of the base body to which glaze is applied, a metal thin film is formed by vacuum vapor deposition or sputtering. As the metal thin film material, one easily oxidized in a high temp. oxygen atomosphere such as Fe, Cr or Ni is used and the thickness of the film is adjusted to about 30mum or more. The metal thin film formed glazed base body is subjected to high temp. treatment at about 300-1,600 deg.C in the oxygen atmosphere, for example, in air. By this method, thick cracks, fine cracks, irregular fractures, wrinkles, stripes, foam perforations or bumping parts are generated to the formed transparent metal oxide thin film and a light coherency surface layer with a beautiful pattern is formed. |
