PURPOSE:To print characters laterally and longitudinally by registering only lateral writing character pattern information in a character pattern memory. CONSTITUTION:The 1st control part 1 converts print data, writes and read data to and from a print data storage memory 2, and processes control codes partially. The 2nd control part 3 refers the contents of a character pattern memory 4 to perform dotting one-line print data received from the control part 1, and also processes control codes. A shift register 7 receives the dotted print data from the 2nd control part 3, and passes its stored data to a switching gate 8 as they are for lateral printing, or by shifting for longitudinal printing under a lateral/ longitudinal writing print command processed by the 3rd control part 6, thus printing data laterally or longitudinally. |
