PURPOSE:To input picture information from a drawing easily and efficiently to the titled device without the intervention of an operator, by converting the picture information into an expression form matched with a system according to the predetermined rule. CONSTITUTION:A central information processing unit 1 and an auxiliary storage device 3 are provided as an information processing system, and information supplied to an input and output bus 2 is supplied to the unit 1, which processes and analyzes the information. An optical input device 10 is connected to the bus 2 to read picture information in a drawing optically, and supplies the read data to the processing unit 1. The unit 1 converts the picture information into an expression form matched with this system according to a predetermined rule. Namely, the device 10 reads the picture information by respective picture elements constituting the drawing, and the information processing system includes a storage device stored previously with various picture element codes used by the system, and picture information on each picture element is collated with each picture element code to select the closest picture element code to each picture information. |
