PURPOSE:To turn the internal-combustion engine stably at low speed by dividing the combustion chamber into two by the easily slidable parting plate, introducing air into one chamber and fuel into the other one during a suction stroke, and injecting fuel or air into the other one through a bypass during an expansion stroke. CONSTITUTION:In the suction stroke, a fuel induction valve 7 and an air induction valve 5 are opened during the falling of a piston 10, and gassy fuel and air are each sucked to the upper and lower air chambers of the parting plate 1 at a theoretical air-fuel ratio. In a compression stroke, all valves are closed, and fuel and air are compressed at a compression ratio where spontaneous ignition is generated. In the expansion stroke, an air pump 3 is operated when the piston reaches a top dead center, air from the lower air chamber is injected to the upper air chamber through the bypass 2, and fuel and air are burnt through spontaneous ignition. In an exhaust stroke, burnt mixture is discharged from an exhaust valve 9 in response to the rise of the piston 10. In this case, burning velocity can be controlled at the speed of injection by means of the pump 3, and stable revolution at low speed is obtained. |
