<p>PURPOSE:To perform the peeling work efficiently without breaking an optical fiber, by crushing the end part of the optical fiber to generate breaks and making the end part into coating torn stripe pieces and cutting coating torn stripe pieces through a coating removing tool fitted to the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve-shaped coating removing tool 6 is fitted to the outside circumference of a coated optical fiber A in the part near the position indicated by a solid line, and the end part of the coated optical fiber A is bent to crush a coating layer 5. Longitudinal breaks 19 are generated in the coating layer 5, and the coating layer 5 is made into >=2 coating torn stripe pieces 5'. Each coating torn stripe piece 5' is bent in the direction of an arrow while being peeled from the outside circumference of an optical fiber 1, and a bending part 20 is pressed to knife edges 9a' and 9a'' of the tool 6 to cut it. Thus, the peeling work is performed efficiently without breaking the optical fiber 1.</p> |
