PURPOSE:To enhance dust collecting capacity, by a method wherein a hammer impact apparatus is operated for a definite time when discharge current is lowerd to a set prescribed value or less and the discharge current is reduced in synchronized relation to the operation time of the hammer impact apparatus while corresponding to a dusct removal rate. CONSTITUTION:A dust collecting electrode 2 and a discharge electrode 6 to which charging voltage is applied are parallelly arranged at predetermined holding intervals and, while dust is collected to the electrode 2 by discharge current generated from the discharge electrode 6, the collected dust is removed from the electrode 2 by a hammer impact apparatus 10. In this apparatus, discharge current is detected by a hammer impact order circuit 13 and, when the detected current is a set prescribed value or less, a signal for operating the apparatus for a definite time is issued. Subsequently, in an operation circuit 11, discharge current directly after the apparatus 10 is stopped is detected and discharge current is determined so that the detected current reaches the set prescribed value or more and the discharge current during the operation of the apparatus 10 is made maximum. |
