The picture frame comprises four sectional frame members which are mitred to butt together at the corners and each have a longitudinal groove (7) on the inside to receive the mounting board (8) etc. of the picture. Each member contains a parallel further groove (between 11 and 12) to receive one end of an L-shaped coupling element at a corner which forms a snap-in connection inside that groove (via projecting ridges on the element engaging complementary recesses (21,22) in the side walls (11,12) of that groove). Elements with eyes for hanging, or an element (27) to act as stand for the picture can be similarly secured in the further groove.
