Lighting control system for buildings - obviates wiring by using transmitter and receiver links using IR, ultrasonic or EM waves

The on/off switches are small self-contained transmitters which operate relays via receivers mounted on the light fitting. The on/off signals are transmitted by a wireless medium, e.g. infra-red, ultra sound, radio or magnetic waves. The transmitters are battery-powered, and the batteries may be recharged by integral solar cells. The signals between each pair of transmitter/receivers may be coded to prevent interference with any other pair.
