Biological effluent treatment - in denitrification tank joined by circulating pump to activation tank

A biological treatment is claimed for effluents which are high in carbon and nitrogen is based on anaerobic denitrification, aerobic activation and nitrification with a common activated sludge. The denitrification tank has in the top a fluid filtration space which is joined to the clarified water outlet and leads to the denitrification through a sludge discharge in an inclined partition. A separate activation tank is equipped with aeration elements. Simple system can be adapted to greatly different or fluctuating conditions. It intensifies the treatment, destroys the aerobic froth and functions reliably even at low temps.
