PURPOSE:To eliminate ghosts excellently during the reception of a character broadcast by controlling the gain of an output signal by the peak value of character data only for a character multiplex section. CONSTITUTION:At the output terminal of a ghost eliminating device 100, a gain control amplifier 200 is provided and its output is fed back to a control terminal to perform AGC. A signal from the amplifier 200 or a signal from the ghost eliminating device 100 are selected by a switch 300. Only during a period of a character multiplex signal, the switch 300 is switched to the side of the amplifier 200 to perform the AGC over the character multiplex signal. Thus, the amplifier is subjected to the AGC only during the period of the character multiplex signal to expand the output level of the character multiplex signal, so ghost removal is performed through the simple constitution. |
