PURPOSE:To easily obtain a composite metallic wire having no eccentricity, by covering the outer circumference of a core material while extruding a billet of covering metal dividedly in a die, and performing an extrusion forming while adding a fixed tension. CONSTITUTION:A billet 13 such as Al is inserted into a container 11 to be extruded, by a ram 12, into a male die 3 of a die 8, placed in front, in a plurally divided state. A core material 16 such as steel is led into the die 3 from an introducing hole 1, and is covered and welded with Al, etc. at the inside of a covering part 6, and then the covered material is extruded from a die hole 7. The extruded material is coiled by a coiling device 19 while being cooled by a cooling device 17, by adding a fixed tension to the material along the center line of the die 8. By this method, a composite metallic wire having a noneccentric core material 16 is easily obtained. |
