PURPOSE:To permit correct detection of the overload preventing operation by allowing a connecting member installed in a power transmission passage to be broken when an overload acts onto the transfer apparatus etc. of a machine tool, and at the same time, by detecting said breakage through detection of transfer of a member to be detected, in case of breakage. CONSTITUTION:During the case when a transfer apparatus in the direction of Z-axis (rotary shaft 3) in a lathe etc. operates in a normal state, the motive power of a driving apparatus 61 is transmitted to the rotary shaft 3 through an output gear 67, a gear 29, and a sleeve 21 and applied to drive the lathe. When an overload is applied in this state, said overload is applied to a connecting member 33 installed onto the sleeve 21 and the gear 29, and said member 33 is broken at a position of cut 34. Therefore, the gear 29 begins rotation against the sleeve 21, and the rotary shaft 3 stops. Then, the pushing bolt 55 on the gear 29 is engaged with the groove 57 on a plate member 43, which is moved rightward by a spring 49, and a sensor 58 detects said rightward movement, thus the driving apparatus 61 is stopped. |
