PURPOSE:To stabilize the atomization of ink and improve the accuracy of manufacture of ink jet nozzles of an ink jet recorder having control electrodes in the internal wall of jet nozzles composed of insulation body by such an arrangement wherein said jet nozzle is composed of an insulation body made of single crystal material and the internal wall of said jet nozzle is made as specific crystalized surface. CONSTITUTION:V grooves (ink jet nozzle) 12a are formed by applying etching of Si wafer to an insulation body 12 and a film of SiO2, which is a single crystal material, is formed on its surface, and a control electrode 13 is formed in each V groove 12a and then multiple ink jet nozzles 12a are formed by fixing an insulating plate 11 to the upper portion of the V grooves 12a. At least 2 surfaces of the internal wall surfaces (1, 1, 1) of the ink jet nozzle are arranged to be parallel with the direction of ink jet. To the ink at the top end of each control electrode 13, an electric field of such a degree whereby ink droplets are not caused to jet out is impressed by a bias voltage, and ink droplets are caused to jet out when a pulse is impressed to the control electrode 13. |
