PURPOSE:To permit manufacture of a plain bearing with high accuracy by forming a positioning hook separately from a bearing body and fixing said hook onto the surface of the bearing body, in a plain bearing such as radial plain bearing etc. which has a positioning hook on its outer surface. CONSTITUTION:In manufacture of the captioned bearing, a metal plate as a raw material is cut by a prescribed dimension, and formed to a semi-cylindrical shape through rough-bending and finishing-bending by use of presses, and further edge-surface-worked by a broach, and thus a half-divided bearing body 1 is obtained. The shape of the bearing body 1 may be cylindrical, so-called bush shape. A positioning hook 3 is fixed at the edge part in the circumferential direction of the bearing body 1 through various welding processes or use of adhesive. Said positioning hook 3 is formed in a proper crosssectional form from a plate-shaped material through machining or plastic work. The fixing surface 5 to the body 1 is finished to a curved surface in conformity to the outer peripheral surface of the body 1, and thus close fitting onto the body 1 is made possible. |
