PURPOSE:To improve dehydration efficiency by pressing operation in the stage of dehydrating sludge, etc. contg. a large amt. of water by utilizing the expansion by the pressurizing fluid of a diaphragm as a pressurizing means. CONSTITUTION:A moving belt 24 of a water permeable filter cloth carrying materials 22 to be pressed such as sludge is circulated and moved through an inlet 18 of a hollow vessel 10 consisting of a top plate 12 provided with a hollow part 16 and a flat bottom plate 14. In the hollow part 16 of the plate 12, a diaphragm 26 made of an elastic material such as rubber is provided at all times above sludge 22 and pressurizing fluid is supplied through an inlet 28. The diaphragm 26 expands to press the sludge 22 and to squeeze out the water in the sludge 22. The water is discharged through the belt 24 which is a water permeable filter cloth. The sludge is discharged as dehydrated cake through an outlet 20. The pressure dehydrating treatment is accomplished with good efficiency without increasing the sizes of members constituting pressurizing such as oil hydraulic cylinders and pistons. |
