Large steel plate cutting equipment - has gas torch mounted on wheeled carriage running along tensioned chain

The equipment cuts through horizontal steel plates along a straight line. A chain is laid along the intended cutting line and clamped and tensioned by brackets at both ends of the plate. A wheeled carriage which carries a gas cutting torch moves along the chain at a speed set on a knob on the carriage. The equipment can cut a line, straight to within 2 mm, through a plate 12 metres long and 225 mm thick. The cutting time for such a plate varies according to the characteristics of the cutting flame, but is about 80 to 90 minutes.
