PURPOSE:To decrease the time required for a division, by performing the operations by a frequency equivalent to the absolute value (i) for the result of operation between the operand (b) and the root alpha<m> in response to the fact that the result of operation between the operand (a) and the root alpha<m> is equal to the integer (i) and the power alpha<i> of the root alpha and every time the pulse is fed. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 63 applies the pulses to the divider circuits 61 and 62 at one time until a detecting circuit 64 detects the integer (i) and the power alpha<i> of the root alpha of the output alpha<2/m> of the circuit 61 and in response to the fact that the circuit 64 detects the root alpha<i> of the output of the circuit 61. At the same time, the pulses of a number equivalent to the absolute value¦i¦of the integer (i) are applied to a divider circuit 65 in response to the fact that the circuit 64 detects the root alpha<i> of the output of the circuit 61. The circuit 65 divides the output alpha<b/m> of the circuit 62 by the root alpha by a frequency equivalent to the number of pulses corresponding to the¦i¦of the circuit 63. |
