PURPOSE:To make the triboelectric charging properties of a toner and a toner carrier stable and uniform, to prevent fog and to increase the durability by adding fine powder prepared by allowing nigrosine dye to be adsorbed on fine silica powder treated with a specified silane compound. CONSTITUTION:Fine powder prepared by allowing nigrosine dye to be adsorbed on fine silica powder treated with a silane compound represented by the general formula (where R1 is H or methyl, R2 is methyl or ethyl, and n is an integer of 1-4) is added. The typical silane compound is gamma-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane. The silica with the adsorbed dye has positive chargeability in itself. |
