PURPOSE:To make the outside visual field and display devices in the inside visible from the operator easy to see by providing modulators of which the transmittivity of light vary with electric signals and external light detectors between the operator and the outside field and keeping the brightness in the outside field at the value lower than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:This invention relates to an external light adjusting device for the system in which the operator 1 observes the outside field and display instruments 3 in the inside visually and nearly simultaneously through transparent glass 5, which device consists of modulators (electrochromic elements) 8 for varying of light transmittivity provided on the surface of said glass, detectors 6 for detecting the intensity of external light 2 transmitting through the modulators 8, external light adjusters 9 for setting the intensity of external light, and modulating signal generators 7 for changing the light transmittivity of the modulators by the output signals of the above-described photodetectors and external light adjusters. A feedback amplifier is constituted in order to allow the output voltage values of the detectors 6 to follow up the output voltage values of the adjusters 9. |
