PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition having high safety and effective to prevent the falling-off of hair, dandruff and itchiness, and to promote the sprouting and growth of hair, by using gibberellin which is a substance prmoting the growth of higher vegetables and produced by the fungus causing Bakanae disease in rice, as an active component. CONSTITUTION:Gibberellin which is used mainly as a plant growth regulating agent for the improvement in the yield and quality of crops, e.g. production of seedless grape, promotion of the growth of grape, cucumber, etc., is used as an active component of hair tonic. The amount of the active component in the hair tonic composition is 0.001-5wt%, preferably 0.05-1.0wt%. The hair tonic composition may contain various components for hair tonic as well as gibberellin, e.g. solvent such as pure water, ethanol, etc., refreshing agent such as menthol, wetting agent such as propylene glycol, emollient such as lactic acid, etc.
